Hazel Jeanetta Shire-Redmon, 88, Willow Hill, Illinois passed away at 1:40 a.m. Thursday, February 7, 2013, at the Newton Rest Haven, Newton, Illinois.
Born in Hunt City, Illinois on June 26, 1924, she was the daughter of Press White and Elva Merl (Layman) White. Hazel was a homemaker. She was a member of the Willow Hill United Methodist Church. She enjoyed numerous volunteer duties at the church where she played the piano and was involved in other music activities.
On August 7, 1942, Hazel married Donald Ralph Shire who preceded her in death February 1976. On December 17, 1977, Hazel married Delmar Redmon who preceded her in death on May 30, 2007. Also preceding her in death were her parents; a grandson, Robert Lewis; a brother & sister-in-law, Lowell & Edna White and a brother-in-law, George Shire.
Hazel is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Forrest & Gila Shire, Kenneth & Beth Shire and Paul & Laurie Shire; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara & Jack Martin and Gloria & Michael Julius; two step-sons, Ronald & Kay Redmon and Larry & Shirley Redmon; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and a sister, Lola Mae Shire.
Burial will be in the Mound Cemetery, rural Jasper County, Illinois.
